Never buying Remington again!!! August 28, 2010 K I just tried this Remington Smooth & Silky rechargeable shaver is terrible. My Mom & I both tried it & got razor burns no matter how gently or what way we tried it. The Remington didn't shave off the hair well & left burns!!! My 20 year old Chick electric shaver still works better than this Remington!!! I can't believe it. So is there a decent electric shaver for legs & arm pits out there for low price?
New to shavers, so far impressed. August 17, 2010 Meno (Washington, DC) This is my first shaver. I was always worried that they wouldn't give me a close shave or would hurt my skin, but I was curious especially given the price of razor refills. When I saw the price on this one I decided there was no harm in trying and I'm glad I did.
The instructions say that if you're a first time user it will take a few times to get a close shave but I got one from the first use. It's comfortable and fast, works as well as a razor but without the cost of replacement blades. When this one wears out I'll just buy a new one.
I've used it on my legs in the shower with lather and it hasn't damaged my skin. I used it dry on a small spot I had missed and it didn't harm either but it was a tiny spot. I like having the option of using it dry too in case I'm in a hurry. Using it on the legs is easy, I don't know about other areas since you have to be careful not to put it at an angle which the instructions say will harm your skin.
Overall I'm impressed, I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it, don't let the price fool you, this really works.
Great Razor August 16, 2010 Tmijares I bought this for a trip to Italy thinking I could charge it over there with a converter. Sad to say i could not. I used it at home the month leading to the trip and it works great. A bit od razor burn under my arms the first time but after that I never had a problem. I love the way it can be used in the shower and actually prefer to do so. All in all a great razor.
Razor Burn? August 14, 2010 Jane (TX) I don't think I have particularly sensitive skin, but I experience what seems to be "razor burn" when using this. I have tried using less pressure with no improvement. It does hold a charge well, and it's pretty, but I won't be using it anymore.
WDF-1600 is just OK July 21, 2010 C L O (tallahassee, FL, USA) This shaver isn't the best of the ones I've used. I have coarse hair, and it takes a lot more effort to shave with this than it did with my old Panasonic. More passes over an area = more skin irritation, which is not great. I can only rate this as OK. It's a good shaver for it's price.
